Ed Motta performed at New Morning

Ed Motta performed in concert for the release of his album “Criterion of the senses” on the Membran label, on October 24 at the New Morning in Paris.

Ed Motta was accompanied by Laurent Salzard on bass, Matti Klein on piano, Thiago Arruda on guitar and Yoran Vroom on drums. Musicians playing with and around him are considered the best and this was the case on Thursday night at New Morning. Ed Motta is a true conductor.

This concert was fabulous, the groove, his style, his voice, this way of integrating the audience into the show; Ed Motta with his groove, recognizable voice and energy, gave the audience a great concert full of sensuality, mixing Brazilian popular music, soul, funk, rock and jazz.

Ed Motta, also called “The Colossus of Rio”, knows how to create a cozy atmosphere, with his soulfull ballads, this Brazilian rhythm with a “West Coast” sound. The audience (young people, teenagers, family, musicians, enthusiasts), all sang all evening and danced.

Ed Motta, from Brazil, is a songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and producer. The artist is a star in his country, he plays on his Fender Rhodes, with his sweet voice, his groove, his charm. Ed Motta was nominated for the Grammy Awards.

“Ed” Motta is a crazy digger, passionate about notes, words, drawings, love and wine, he is also a food and wine critic. The artist perpetuates the legacy of his uncle Tim Maia, the father of Brazilian soul. He collaborated with Bernard Purdie, Roy Ayers, Hero 4, Seu Jorge, Incognito, Bo Diddley or Ryuichi Sakamoto.
