Stairs: on the road to success

They are brother and sister. Together, Lucille (22) and Samuel (20) Atchouel form the Stairs duo. The people of Toulouse made themselves known to teenagers by making the buzz on YouTube in 2013 with remixed covers, filmed on the stairs of the family home. Hence their name. Their mashups seduce, especially the artists whose songs they have taken over. Result? Cher congratulates them on Twitter. Lady Gaga shares a moment with them on the set of “C à vous” on France 5, Belinda Carlisle invites them to her concert in London and the Mexican star with 22 million records sold, Gloria Trevi, invites them to perform in premiere part of his show two evenings in a row at the Auditorio Nacional de Mexico, in front of 10,000 people.

Do you think it made them dizzy? Nay. It just made them want to go further. To take the titles of others is good, but to sing those that we have composed is better! For three years they will only write and record models.

It’s thanks to his music publisher son that Francis Cabrel’s former producer Richard Steff discovered them. An encounter that sounds obvious and that makes him find his way back to the recording studios. No longer in production, he left it to clairvoyant producer Valéry Zeïtoun, who signed them. With him, here they are in place.

After the success of their first single “Old Hollywood” (a tribute to American cinema of the 50s and 60s), the two composers released “Sitting in the night”. Directed by Matthieu Mendès, this new fresh track, with a pop rhythm, is very effective. Available on Muzicenter, it has already marked time on radio and on platforms with hundreds of thousands of streams.

For sure, Lucille and Samuel will not be “alone in the night” for very long. Their first EP is already on the right track…
