“The legend continues” at Cirque Pinder

Like a phoenix raised from its ashes, the Pinder circus returns to Reuilly’s Lawn with a new show, “La Légende Continue” created for the second time by Judicael Vattier, renowned artistic director.

This year, there is something for everyone: romance, acrobatics and clowns are on the program. No wild animals, only horses and ferrets. In this regard, the Pinder circus is part of the new directive adopted by the city of Paris on November 15.

From November 26, 2019 to January 12, 2020, the adventure continues with the same team or almost, mainly of French origin and from the Circassian tradition with breathtaking and spectacular numbers full of grace and sensuality like the aerial hoop and the aerial fabrics of Valentine Villenet or the flying rope of Charline Kandilian, without forgetting the traditional equestrian aerobatics, specialty of the Pinder circus since its creation in 1854.

In total, ten numbers interspersed with interventions by clowns and an intermission. The artistic director, Judicael Vattier, interprets Mr Loyal and presents the artists while mixing with the jokes of the clowns. As soon as he arrives under the marquee, the spectator is greeted by the artists who mix with the cupboards to direct them to their seats.

In 1854, the brothers George and William Pinder created a circus based on equestrian art. From 1868, they performed in France and went back and forth between the 2 countries until 1904 when they decided to settle in France definitively under the direction of Arthur Pinder, son of William. After the latter’s death in 1928, Charles Spiesser, a descendant of Hungarian fairgrounds, bought the circus, modernized it and made it known by radio and television broadcasts with the ORTF.

From 1971 to 1983, actor Jean Richard was the owner and after bankruptcy, Gilbert Edelstein, one of Jean Richard’s former collaborators bought the company and made it essential in France and in Europe. This is how he created a dynasty with his wife, Andrée and his children, Sophie (illusionist) and Frédéric (wildcat tamer).

In 2018, due to financial difficulties, the tour stops. Gilbert Edelstein decides not to abandon the work he had created more than 30 years ago. The liquidation allows to pay the staff and the artists. The animals are placed on the Perthes-en-Gatinais property bought 20 years earlier, on the 130 ha plot with a farm and woods.

Wishing to continue, he offers a completely new new show, “Les Etoiles du Cirque”, under the operational direction of his right arm Claude Vonner and the artistic direction of Judicaël Vattier, young artist and director. At the end of 2018, a new generation of French artists put on a show designed with respect for the traditional circus. There are a dozen numbers under a smaller tent and no animals except horses.

For the 2019 edition, no wild animals but the ferrets of the young Russian Anelya discovered in “Incroyable Talent” and “the biggest cabaret in the world” by Patrick Sébastien. Horses are in the spotlight with the equestrian duo of the company “Fantom Circus” mixing charm, acrobatics and hand to hand.

Foreign representatives are the Spanish Loic del Egido and his diabolos, the hand-to-hand Hispano-Venezuelan duo, the Pasha clown from Ukraine (and his acolyte Morris born in Mans).

Illusion and magic are also on the program with numbers specially designed for the Pinder circus by Guillaume Dottin, including an Oudini-style escape.

Finally, the young team of “Ride the World”, discovered at the finale of “Incroyable Talent” will cut you soft by its exploits in motorcycle and BMX.

The Pinder circus offers the possibility of organizing sessions for schools, leisure centers during school holidays, associations and associations, but also works councils (Christmas trees and end-of-year galas) with prices. specific.
