Dadju was born on May 2, 1991 in Bobigny, Seine-Saint-Denis, from parents of Kino-Congolese origin and grew up in Romainville. He is part of a family of 14 children, some of whom are also singers.

Dadju is immersed in music from an early age with a musician grandfather, a singer father in Papa Wemba’s Viva La Musica troupe and a mother who will introduce him to traditional sub-Saharan songs.

He started playing music “by accident” by regularly accompanying his brother Maître Gims in the studio. The latter decides to record a song with him, which pleases those around him and encourages him to get professionally into music.

In 2012, he started a duet with Abou Tall, from where he launched the album “Indefinite”, which became a golden single, with the song: “Aime-moi demain”.

Dadju and Abou Tall started working together in 2012, posting a freestyle video on the internet called Le Nouveau Monde. The name of the group refers to the New World from One Piece, the two rappers being fans of manga. Apart from that, Dadju participates in a featuring with Big Ali and other members of Wati B on the title WatiBigAli which will reveal Dadju to the general public.
On October 22, 2014, the group won the title of “best group of the year 2014” at the Trace Awards, with their music video for the song My torts from The Shin Sekaï Volume II.

In 2016, Dadju embarked on a solo project after announcing the fans on social networks and releasing some songs for free, like “Kitoko and Bonne”.

Dadju released in 2017, on Instagram and then on YouTube, a series of video clips entitled G 2.0 Live, songs to promote his future album, Gentleman 2.0. The first title, titled Reine, is the one that most appeals to fans. Its full version released in April 2017, dethroning the hits of the moment, Reine climbed to the first place of the Top iTunes, until obtaining a diamond single as well as more than one hundred million views on YouTube in February 2018.

His single “Ma pride” released in October 22, 2017 with the participation of his brother Maître Gims and the rapper of Alonzo the cousin of Soprano and Vincenz, after which he is preparing a weekly screenplay for his album which was released on November 24, 2017, and three weeks in a series of music videos, “Intuition” released on November 10, 2017, “As if nothing was missing” on November 17, 2017 and “Seconde Chance” released on the same day as his album “Gentleman 2.0”, November 24, 2017, at the Polydor label.

On November 22, 2017, Dadju announced on YouTube, in the introductory video for his album Gentleman 2.0, that he got married on January 8, 2017, and on the social network Instagram that he had become the father of a little girl. daughter on October 19, 2017.

Dadju announces the release of his second solo album, Poison, for November 15, 2019 and two days later, November 18, 2019, releases the second part of his album Antidote. In his latest album, he dedicates a song to his daughter (Maamou). He also announced in album Antidote that he would become a father for a second time in 2019. 10 days after the sale of this second part, the original album is certified gold with more than 50,000 copies sold, then platinum record at the end of December 2019.

It becomes double platinum in July 2020 and in October 2020, Dadju unveils the reissue of his album Poison or Antidote. The latter is called Edition Miel Book and is made up of 14 titles describing 14 different stories. The album became triple platinum in December 2020.

Awards

In 2018, Dadju received the award – Francophone revelation of the year – NRJ Music Awards;
In 2020 received the prize – NRJ Music Awards, French-speaking male artist of the year and French-speaking collaboration of the year (Soolking – Melegim).

Currently on tour, Dadju continues to charm the hearts of his fans on the stages. Beyond that, announced new surprises, through a series of new videos, which will be released every week.

Last week the star unveiled his first video, on September 7 with the title “She asks me” which registered 3.2 million visitors on Youtube, and on September 15 he unveiled the second video, titled “Wouli Liya” , with Soolking, Kaly and Ayman Serani, of which he now has 2 million views in just 2 days.
