For its 11th edition, “Fashion Night Couture” has chosen “Karl Lagerfeld” as its theme. The great couturier and artistic director of the house of Chanel passed away in 2019. For this, 10 fashion houses paid tribute to him by showing their creations.

Each house presented 16 exceptional outfits. The 50 models each wore 1 to 5 dresses from each house. The guideline was the audacity and the enhancement of the female body. The different morphologies and generations of the participants showed an inclusive and uninhibited fashion. On the “catwalk”, we found great freedom of expression and relaxation.

The parade deployed sensual and colorful dresses, highlighting the women. Sublime materials including lace, organza and silk have made it possible to achieve voluminous or tight cuts, puffed sleeves or “bustier” tops. All embellished with XXL high heels and matching bags, not to mention hats or flower hoods.

“Choupette” present at the closing

Throughout the parade, photos of the creator were projected. To close the parade, the cat “Choupette”, famous companion of Karl Lagerfeld, was present on the podium. Thanks to her, emotion was at the heart of the spectators.

Who created FNC?

Philippe Noel, without any particular training in the field, is the designer of the Haute Couture fashion shows for Fashion Night Couture. It all started in Ile de Ré, the cradle of the family, on an idea of her 3 children. Chanel, her eldest daughter, had the idea for the parade, while her son, Roman, thought of the UNESCO site at Ile de Ré to host the event. Finally, the youngest, who was then only 10 years old, suggested placing screens so that the event is free.

The first 2 parades (2011 and 2012) took place at Ile de Ré. From 2013, we find the event at the Salon des Miroirs “in Paris for only Haute Couture fashion shows. It should be noted that the professional world of fashion has recognized FNC for the quality of its shows. It has been in the top 10 for several years. Each year, between 300 and 340 models apply, and for the guests, nearly 1000 requests for 400 to 420 chairs available.

FNC is making a name for itself thanks to its communication on social networks, to promote fashion houses and designers. In 2020, FNC celebrated its 10th anniversary with a tribute to Yves St Laurent. This year, she chose Karl Lagerfeld. Every year, the event’s mission is to preserve and defend the know-how of Haute Couture and French architectural heritage.
