Pro D2: A cruel defeat suffered by RC Narbonnais

Racing Club Narbonnais lost at the very end of the match against Colomiers this Friday evening (20-23).

Racing Club Narbonnais lost at the very end of the match against Colomiers this Friday evening (20-23).

The Narbonne however put a lot of desire and impact, like their conquest, but they paid for their indiscipline, while the Columérins showed patience in the face of adversity, spending more than 40 minutes without scoring but by managing to tip this part.

The release of Campbell, after a few phases in the 22 meters of the RCNM and the US Colomiers who can negotiate a touch on his left side, well placed. Saaidia finds Ricard, and the carried ball is organized, but he is pushed into touch again.

Following a late tackle by Colomiers captain Anthony Coletta on Jason Robertson with a shock to the head, Hernandez spoke of the red card, but changed his mind after his video referee said. Either Narbonne missed the opportunity to open the scoring immediately.

We are witnessing a chilly start to the match but well under way. Romuald Séguy, imperial at the foot, passes a first penalty (0-3, 7th), before being imitated by Robertson (3-3, 15th). The fault of Visser in defense, still in a ruck for a Narbonnais who does not make the effort to come out fast enough.

So after this melee, the advance of the Columérins. The game that can switch to the left wing after some time of play, with Rokoduguni taking over the line and Seguela who maintains speed to transmit to his winger at the end of the line a lobbed pass. In edge of touch on the left, Seguy transforms the score, 10 points in advance for Colomiers, the biggest gap of the game.

And apart from a last penalty from Séguy of the 50 meters, we will no longer see the visitors attacking in the first period. Unlike Racing which, even outnumbered after Madaule’s yellow card, is pushing close to the columérine line. And after several attempts, the Narbonne forwards will register the try for the revolt by Jordan Rochier (10-16, 40 + 5th).

In the second half, as usual, Colomiers imposed a false rhythm. Thanks to the scrum and a good start to the second half, Jason Robertson and the RCN came back three points behind Colomiers (13-16, 52nd). Narbonne supporters start to believe it. They’re right. Ten minutes later, after a new ball carried well controlled, the scrum half Jérémy Chaput scored flush (20-16, 64th).

The Columérins do not wait for the siren and abandon the game with one pass to return the ball to the foot. On the recovery, the Narbonnais make a forward and condemn their last chance.

After a ball carried, hooker Youssef Saaidia scored the try to win for his team (20-23, 79 ‘). Another defeat for Racing, which is three points behind 14th place. It is therefore a success with the forceps of a team of Colomiers which was jostled, but brought down Narbonne which has still not won at the Parc des Sports et de l’Amitié.

Meet on the lawn of the Stade des Alpes in Grenoble, for the RCN’s trip (Friday November 26 at 7:30 p.m.). A team that doubts, that plays but that loses. The time is not yet for a reshuffle. There is still time and hope.
